Christian Youth In Action

Christian Youth in Action is CEF’s training and ministry program for Christian high school and college age young people which is carried out primarily during a school holiday. In some parts of the world, the program has expanded to even include some adults who are “young at heart.”   During the CYIA training the youth are involved in teaching 5-Day Clubs.

A 5-Day Club is an evangelistic neighborhood Bible club for children held in a Christian home or other community location for one hour a day for five consecutive days during the holiday.  A CYIA student teaches exciting Christ-centered Bible lessons on the child’s level along with a true to life missionary story.  Boys and girls also participate in games, singing, sharing and memorizing Bible verses.

As a result of a CYIA student’s teaching:

• Boys and girls are reached with the Gospel of Christ.
• Children’s lives are changed as they grow in God’s Word.
• Each student’s skills are sharpened in areas of communication, teamwork, endurance and responsibility.
• Students gain experience which equips them for active service in the local church, school, vocation and CEF ministry.

The first Christian Youth in Action in South Africa!
30 young people from Bluewater Bay, Bethlehem, Kanana, Kids Beach, Mthatha, Mclear and Tsolo attended this year's CYIA held from 7-15 July in Mthatha.

After three days of training ten teams were ready to go out and teach 5-Day Clubs. Every day they first saw a demonstration of the club program. Then every team had the opportunity to practice the whole program. Each student also had to do individual study of their part of the program.

At the most 448 children were reached in 10 Clubs with an average of 347 children. 355 children responded to the Gospel message and received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour.
